We are Sinclairs. Beautiful. Privileged. Damaged. Liar. We live, least in the summertime, on a private island off the coast of Massachusetts. Perhaps that is all you need to know

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. A beautiful family on a mysterious island. What’s a lie and what’s the truth? This book follows the story of Cadence. Every year, Cadence and her family spends the summer on their private Island. Cadence is fifteen when something horrible happens. An accident. She loses her memories and ends up suffering from migraines. Two years later she goes back to the island, trying to figure out what happened.

giphy4I read this a year ago for the very first time. I loved it so much, I had to read it again. The writing style is on point which makes you want to keep reading, and because of the length of the story you can finish it in days. A perfect read for the weekend.

It was inspiring and it gripped me. It even made me think about life! I know, crazy! I loved the fairy tales in this book and I loved the metaphors. If you’re going to read this, my advice to you is to start this book without any expactation and go into it as blind as possible.
